Forklift Injury Attorneys
If you are injured by a forklift, you are not alone. While forklifts are incredibly helpful on many job sites and used the world around, they are dangerous machines and must be operated and maintained with care.
Forklifts are frequently used at warehouse stores such as Costco, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sam’s Club, Walmart and other big box stores. Because customers are invited into areas where forklifts are being operated, special care must be taken to ensure safety of the customer.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports 110,000 major forklift related accidents last year in warehouse environments, construction sites and loading docks. One in six construction workplace accidents are forklift related. Over 100 people are killed each year in forklift-related accidents. OSHA estimates that over 11% of forklifts will result in an accident each year. Approximately 80% of forklift accidents involve a pedestrian being run over, crushed or struck from material falling from the lift.
When a forklift is improperly used, it can result in serious injuries and fatal accidents. The bottom line is that the negligent use of forklifts puts customers, workers and people in the vicinity, at risk. California and federal regulations are designed to protect people from forklift injuries. Sadly, these regulations are not always followed.
If you have been injured in a forklift accident you may be eligible for medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
